I am a Licensed Intervention Specialist, specializing in working with students who demonstrate Moderate-Intensive disabilities. I attended Kent State University for both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. My Master's Degree is in Special Education. Bachelor's Degree is in Speech Pathology. Both programs have prepared me to work with individuals with disabilities who may also have limited communication.
Experience
I am currently working as a tutor as an Independent Consultant and through the tutoring company North Coast Education Services located in Solon, OH. As a teacher, I enjoyed my instructional time with students as the highlight of my job responsibilities. I believe in setting high expectations and developing a relationship with each client based on trust and respect. I have learned the importance of presuming intellect of each client and meeting them at their academic instructional level in order to discover new passions. I have worked with numerous community programs to provide multi sensory approaches when giving interventions. My relationship with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History has opened many new doors for continuing my own education as well as hands on vocational experience for the clients I am working with. Additionally, I have built relationships with Yoga For Kids and MAS Distributing to build programs that offer opportunities to increase self esteem and success in a recreational and vocational setting.
